What people say about their experience

The people we work with often bring their own wisdom, kindness, and insight to our shared work. Here are some of their reflections on the process.

Organisational Consultancy

Anne helped us to set up the Maternal Advocacy and Support (Mas) Project using her expert knowledge of community psychology. She worked with the leadership team to shape and articulate the values of the project, and worked alongside the participants, helping bring a new lens to the experiences they'd been struggling with. Her clinical experience created a context where women could participate in a supportive and safe environment. She found the right tools to help us measure impact and her input to the evaluation report helped us secure funding to develop the project further. She is a deeply passionate, reflective and professional person to work with.

Dear Dr Darcy I wanted to sincerely thank you for your support. It has meant a great deal to me to finally have someone to speak to openly about the trauma I have carried for so long. Your patience, understanding and professionalism helped me feel heard and taken seriously. For the first time, I felt I was able to begin putting words to experiences that have lived with me for decades. I am grateful for the time we had and the space you provided. Thank you for your care and kindness.

My mental and physical health had deteriorated to a degree that I found my life not worth living. When I first attended an appointment with Dr Darcy things had started to get quite dark for me. Dr Darcy made me feel welcome and at ease. I found her very easy to speak to and was glad I had gotten to see someone who actually seemed to care. As time has progressed I have found Dr Darcy to be of a very caring nature who takes the time to listen to me before trying to give me the best treatment to help me. I find Dr Darcy cares about her patients and what actually happens to them. I'm not the sort of person that lets someone into my life easily, but I have found Dr Darcy to be someone that I have been able to open up to. I find Dr Darcy to be a very professional, caring person, who in my opinion is a credit to her profession. Dr Darcy has helped me immensely in trying to come to terms with my anxiety and depression.

I can't even put into words how thankful I am to you for all the help and support you have given me. You have truly made a massive difference to my life. I can now look forward to the future with [my baby daughter] instead of dreading it. I'm a better person, mum and friend than I ever was before. Thank you for saving my life.

Thank you for all the help you have given me and for all your support. I have come a long way since seeing you. You have given me hope - even during the bad times I see there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I just wanted to say thank-you so much for everything you have done to help me find myself. I know that without your help I would have spent the rest of my life lost and not knowing why.

You are a bit of a maverick and you have a talent for this work you are doing. Go with your gut. People need what you have to offer.
